Today we get to feature the stunning Arekkusa Cosplay. Her dark magician girl cosplay is cute enough to make anyone fangirl! Read her interview below!
How and when did you get into cosplay?
I've enjoyed anime since a young age, but in sixth grade I met a boy a year older than me, and he told me about conventions and cosplay.
How did you come up with your cosplay name?
Arekkusa is actually my name in Japanese! It's my Xbox and Playstation log in, Elsword... basically everything.
What do you do when you're not in cosplay or geeking out?
I have a full time job as a waitress, and I also baby sit.
How do you choose your next cosplay?
It's usually who I'm obsessing over at the time! Sometimes it's a closet cosplay, sometimes it's something more complex.
Who is your cosplay idol/inspiration?
I actually don't have one?? I'm not sure why.
What cosplay(s) are you working on right now?
Vidalia from Steven Universe, and I'm hoping to start a gijinka of Wolf Link.
What is your dream cosplay?
My dream cosplay was Dark Magician Girl, and I was able to obtain that! I plan on doing more work to make it better though.
What is a random fun fact about one of your cosplays?
They're basically all held together by hot glue. I'm a glutton for my Cosplays falling apart, but I can't stop.
Do you have any cosplay or convention pet peeves?
Cliques have recently been a problem. The discrimination of fan bases is also a problem.
Do you have any horror stories or mistakes you've made that others can learn from?
Make sure you have all pieces of your cosplay before you drive an hour to your photoshoot...
Do you have anything else you want to say, or add to this interview?
I appreciate everyone who's reading this! Thank you lovelies.
