Today I get to feature a talented cosplayer and fashion designer. Bunny loves cats, food, coffee, videogames, worbla, and Star Wars! Read her full interview below!
How and when did you get into cosplay?
Im still new to cosplay, Personally only cosplaying for a year and a half now. I was a fashion designer for 10 plus years and owned a boutique where i sold my fashion designs but was always in love with the art of costume design and started pursuing cosplay designing as a career this past year. I love it so far!! Its a big change but worth it.
How did you come up with your cosplay name?
My nickname is Bunny and typically i have some kind of hair bow or bow accessory on. Bunny and Bows seemed fitting.
What do you do when you're not in cosplay or geeking out? (aka day job, other hobbies)
Well when im not working on cosplay commissions I tend to play videogames. My current favorite is an MMORPG called Neverwinter. Its free on Xbox,PC and ps4, Im big into Dungons and dragons (which is what neverwinter is based off) and spend alot of my free time paying online with friends and guild mates (whewww Misfit toys!!!) lol!!! I also play on my 3ds, currently im replaying Bravely Default until i can afford Bravely Second. Im also a huge fan of rune factory another rpg on 3ds. So cute. Kind of like zelda and final fantasy mixed with harvest moon.
How do you choose your next cosplay?
I have so many i want to do. My budget is typically how i choose what ill be personally cosplaying as.
Who is your cosplay idol/inspiration?
Kamui cosplay. She is my idol and one day i hope to meet her. Lanthea cosplay is another same as alexandria the geek. Yaya han is amazing with all things sewing. I love so many cosplayers work with worbla (my favorite material to use) that my newsfeed is always filled with wonderfully inspiring posts about cosplay!!
What cosplay(s) are you working on right now?
Currently im working on some armor based off world of warcraft. Be sure to check out my facebook page for updates on that. Its my first time building armor with led lighting in it that i built in. Ill be updateing soon with helmet progress!! Im also working on a mermaid commission and wounder woman commission at the same time. For free comic book day i was hawk girl!! I adore her.
What is your dream cosplay?
A xenomorph. Ive designed the costume, figured out my costs and time itll take to make but currently im saving for a camera so after i get that ill be going back to saving up for supplys to make it!! Aliens is one of my favorite moviess along with pans labyrinth (I have so many dream cosplays from that film too lol!!)
What is a random fun fact about you as a cosplayer or one of your cosplays?
I have a tendancy to trip or fall over nothing so most of my costumes need to be sturdy and not breakable to withstand my lack of grace lol!!!
Do you have any cosplay or convention pet peeves?
I dont like seeing anyone put down for the cosplay they have on. Thats a huge dislike of mine.
Do you have any horror stories or mistakes you've made that others can learn from?
There are a million mistakes I've made I'm sure, probably that when i made my hawk girl headdress i stupidly forgot to measure the wig on my head so it was a little tight. Thats the most recent one. Everyone makes mistakes, its how you over come them that will make you great. I just ended up reheating the back where i had glued the seam together and added a small spacer to add in the extra inch i needed.
Do you have anything else you want to say, or add to this interview?
My dream convention to go to is San Diego comic con or Blizz con.
Where can we find you on all things social?
