This week I want to feature someone who was requested by Zeveelia! This cosplayer is very talented and loves his Borderlands. Kaos Cosplay is a new favorite of mine, so please enjoy my interview with him! How and when did you get into cosplay? I got into cosplay in 2012 and a friend of mine asked if we wanted to go to Otakon and I was like I'd love to go. Guess that means I got to work on a cosplay for it and then it just escalated from there. How did you come up with your cosplay name? I actually got my name from a band that I use to hang out with and go see play pretty religiously(the bands name was Stuck in Kaos) so its kinda like a lil omage back to them. What do your friends and family think of your hobby? Some think it's a little weird but most think it's fun and exciting to see what I come up with. If you're still cosplaying in 10+ years, do you think it will have an effect on your cosplay choices, or the characters you choose to portray? More then likely it will, but it'll really depend on the characters or video games/animes/movies at that time. What do you do when you're not in cosplay or geeking out? Factory worker during the day, then the rest of the time it's mostly working on cosplays, playing video games. How do you choose your next cosplay? Usually depends on funds lol. I look at what I can afford to do and then work off that. What are your thoughts on genderbent cosplays? Genderbends are great and sometimes they can turn out really wicked for both sides of the fence. Who is your cosplay idol/inspiration? Knightmage, Bill Doran(Punished Props), Da Frontline Trooper, just to name a few. What cosplay(s) are you working on right now? Working on a complete overhaul of my Psycho cosplay from Borderlands. What is your dream cosplay? Fully decked out ODST from Halo or a Hunter from Destiny. What is holding you back from making your dream cosplay becoming a reality? Funds for the most part. What is your favorite cosplay you've made? I would say my favorite would have to be pyramid head since it was pretty much made soley by myself (with some help from the wife) What cosplay did you put the most time into? That would be a 3 way tie between pyramid head, boom(both versions) and psycho(soon to be both versions) Do you have any horror stories or mistakes you've made that other's can learn from? Always do a test fit before going to the con. I Had a few pieces of various cosplays fall off or break because I didn't do a test run. Do you have any tips or words of encouragement for other cosplayers? Like Shia Lebouf would say, JUST DO IT. Even if it's a store bought costume, just go out and have fun. Where can we find you on all things social?
