Seeing as Mother's Day is coming up this weekend, I just wanted to make a post dedicated to my mama. I've been cosplaying for a year and she plays a very significant role. I just want to share everything about her with you.
PS: I hope she doesn't hate me for some of the pictures I used!
I was nervous about telling my mom about my cosplay for a while. She's always made fun of my quirky, artsy habits. I could just imagine the conversation; "Hey mom, I started a new hobby. Right now I'm brushing yarn to make nine floor length tails!"
But after I showed her a few costumes, she seemed interested, asked a few questions and was genuinely happy for me. It's nice to have her support with one of my hobbies!
Over this year she has become fairly involved in cosplay, mostly not by her choosing. On my frugal mission, I usually turn to her for odd bits that I can use for my cosplay. She's saved me so much money by having the right paint color, or some odd scraps. Once I got more serious into sewing projects, I did have to steal her enormous 80 pound, 80 year old sewing machine to finish a few projects. I used it for a few projects before I was given my Grandma's newer model.
FUN FACT: My mom is the reason I go by Breezeeweezee! It was the
hotmail she created for me when I was younger. I abandoned it a while
ago, but it came back into my life and has stuck ever since!
My mom is also my mailbox, also not by her choice. She puts up with my random packages coming to her house, and different letters and prints from other people. I'm too lazy to change my address, and she has voiced her opinion, but I think she loves me enough to still collect my mail for me to pick up once a week when she feeds me delicious food every Sunday. <3
She is very supportive with my projects and provides creative input on project designs, and other little details. It's nice to know that she's finally taken an interest in my weird hobbies and accepted that I will always be a different kind of creative.
I love you, Mom! Thank you for being so supportive of my art.
