This is a super fun post where I get to compare my version of a cosplay against a version done by some of my favorite cosplayers! 1. PsyduckI love my Psyduck. It turned out so kawaii and bad ass at the same time, if that's even possible. I love how I was able to create a ninja version, with a sexy belly dancer side. RPG Adventurers did this amazing battle Psyduck, and I actually found them from my research prior to making my Psyduck. I instantly fell in love with their cosplays. They're a very talented duo, and this Psyduck just makes me so happy. Photo by David Su. 2. Red SonjaBecause of Undead Du, I actually had the courage to make my Red Sonja cosplay. I had fun shooting this, but I don't think I would have the courage to wear this to a convention. I hope I get to meet Du one day! Photos by Danyella Axani and Open Shutter Photography. 3. Bombshell Harley QuinnStephBot was one of the cosplayers I pulled inspiration from when I made my Bombshell Harley Quinn cosplay. It was one of my first costumes and I bought or modified a lot of the pieces. Her jacket and goggles are so spot on and all her other work is amazing to watch develop. I didn't realize it at the time, but after I made mine, I kept finding so many new cosplays of her! Which is awesome, it gave me more cosplayers to follow and admire. My version of Nidalee was basically made out of a blanket, and it's my most accurate cosplay to date. I need to go back and tighten up the top, and actually style my wig, but that's a project for a rainy day. When Jessica Nigri came out with her Nidalee photos I got so excited. For some reason, she just had the most amazing Nidalee cosplay I've ever seen. But maybe it's just because it's Jessica Nigri. Photos by Bofoto Studios and Martin Wong. 5. NinetalesNinetales was my first finished cosplay and I am still so proud of this one. The whole thing together looks gorgeous and elegant. I was largely inspired by the designs by Cowslip.
J Wo Designs is another cosplay artist who pulled inspiration from Cowslip. Her stuffed tails fill out the costume nicely and she did such a good job with accuracy to the design. Photos by Capertured Photography and Kristi Grunden. That wraps up the post. Do you cosplay the same character as one of your idols? Share in the comments below! *kiss kiss*
